Why Fabulous Foragers?

This community is focused on gaining health through knowledge. Looking at anthropology, agriculture, and nutrition research can help us learn about how our own bodies work. If you want to discuss animal rights or raw gurus... hey those are very interesting, but this forum is about the science of health. The shortcomings of modern science are recognized, but hey, science is much more reliable than some anecdotes from a "guru."

As many of you know, I am a student of Medical Qigong, which is a lesser known branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It's not a vary familiar to most in the west. When people think of qigong, they usually think of Tai Chi-like movements. A big part of qigong, though, is releasing emotions and traumas in order to balance the energy fields and uncover a person's "true Spirit".

This is a Shaolin technique used clinically by my teacher and he has had great success in clearing and releasing negati… Continue

Daniel Vitalis Interview: rethinking veganism

Found Here:
"I no longer subscribe to any one idea, so things like Veganism, Rawfoods, Superfoods, and the like no longer hold the powerful sway they once did. I have come to understand that all approaches contain seeds of value, though each on has its inherent limitations, and can only take you so far... I also began a fairly intensive exploration of raw meats, and this allowed me to significantly reduce my sugar intake.

...My sincere hope is to see… Continue

How about coconut creme? I eat similar to you although I'm not all raw anymore (I eat cooked veggies and veggie soups and was poaching eggs but gave eggs up as they don't seem okay for me). I think I get a lot of calories from coconut. Am deleting…
